| Why do we ask for money for a non profit project? |
For extending our server hardware.
In summer 2001 NVG.org, the networking group at the university of Trondheim, Norway, donated a dedicated server and free connectivity and bandwidth to BTTR, which terminated our massive traffic problem and the timed downloads we had to cripple our service with. We moved BTTR over to Norway to a stable and comfortable home with all freedom one could have to grow further.
At christmas 2001 bobic and hippie2000 donated their christmas money to buy new harddisks and to extend our server RAM. In this time we opened the Aminot full mirror and our ftp server. Since then a lot of services have been added, a lot of members joined our team and we uploaded software like hell. We now also offer entire CDs for download, so there's a huge demand for server space.
Not even two years have passed since the last hardware upgrade and our disks were full again! Since then we collected quite some contriutions, and currently are fixing our space limitations.
If you like our work, you are welcome to donate and help cover our hardware costs. |
